Should I Convert to PST or Import from EML

Hi there.

I’m migrating from Windows Live Mail to Office 365 Outlook but am a little confused over which utility I should use to best achieve that.

The description of utility “Convert to PST for Outlook” specifically states that “All images, HTML formatting, attachments, and headers will be retained” whilst utility “Import EML to Outlook” does not.
Similarly, the description of utility “Import EML to Outlook” specifically states that “the utility retains the original folder structure” whilst utility “Convert to PST for Outlook” does not.

So, if I want to successfully migrate all messages, including attachments, from WLM to Outlook whilst maintaining the original folder structure which utility should I use.

Can you please point me in the right direction on this?

Both utilities will retain all images, HTML formatting, attachments, and headers. “Import EML to Outlook” allows to import directly to connected Office 365 account. “Retains the original folder structure” option is available in the Advanced version of the both utilities only.

Step 2: Select the folder, check the preview of EML files, and select those emails you want to convert. Mike Duke Messages: 12 Registration: 9/17/2020	#4 9/21/2020 3:27 AM Importing eml-files directly into Outlook isn't possible but if you only have a small amount of eml-files, you can easily save the opened eml-message to a folder within Outlook by using the “Move To Folder” command. If I select a folder containing EML files I just get an error. I have precisely the same issue with the Import EML tool.
