the tool finds nothing on my laptop, although I have a profile that it finds, but nothing to convert.

You can use Auto-Complete Files Report and Auto-Complete Lists Report utilities to find your contacts.
You can use Export Auto-Complete Lists to export them from a store to a file.
Then you can use Import Auto-Complete List to import them to a new account.

You can’t directly convert Outlook profile autocomplete (DAT/Stream_Autocomplete) to NK2/XML, but you can export it using NK2Edit or similar tools, then import it into Outlook to restore autocomplete.
